42 miles east of Bakersfield via State Hwy 178 and old Kern Canyon Rd., located along the lower Kern River is Hobo Campground. The hot springs are located about 2 miles southwest of Hobo Campground on the Old Kern Canyon Road (old highway 78). You'll see a telephone pole in the middle of a turnout area on the right side of the road.
A 1/4 mile hiking trail descends 300 feet down to the hot springs along the Kern River.
It's a zoo there sometimes in the summer months.

Thu, March 27, 2008 - 11:43 PMwellllllll i see this response is not too timely, but perhaps coincidentally i just returned from remington hot springs.
we were camping at hobo campground which is labelled and is about a mile past the springs.
we were pretty clueless but managed to find it at 2 am and it was well worth it!
one of my fave hot springs esp in so. cal!
