We’re going to rent a camper/van and cruise the coast this week – we’re visiting someone in San Luis Obispo, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good soaks in that area, or along Hwy 1 between SLO and Big Sur. I’ve got the Google Earth overlay, but it’s pretty tough to know what’s good (or accessible) and what’s not. I’m mostly used to developed resorts (Harbin, Sierra, etc.) but I’d love to find some pools in a more natural setting too, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Any recommendations for soaks along Hwy 1 in SoCal?
Sat, December 8, 2007 - 8:47 AMthis is a little late for the poster but for further notes...but there are two developed sites in Avila, near SLO, one a more upscale resort, one more of a RV park type thing> I don;t know of much u til you get to Esalen, which is only open for people bot guests there between 1 AM and 3 AM (ouch! but their community parties are great if you get there during "the season.")
ten niles inland from Big Sur is the Ventana Wilderness wild hot springs. free but you need a wilderness pass from the ranger station.
