we're planning to bring a small rental car from Berkeley area for the Thanksgiving feast and a couple daysof retreat at Sierra Hot Springs...might might meet up with a friend in Nevada City en route.could take a rider (possibly two but we'llsee) for a share of gas. return probably Sunday 11/25 .I'm not anticipating snow next week but will check the weather reports and carry chains if need be.
we are quiet nonsmokers whose tastes in music are acoustic. it's generally a four to five hour drive depending on road, traffic, and route.
e-mail me with your contact info if interested.

we live in Berkeley and I believe it'd be a longer trip as Fresno is tothe south as well as to the east oft he Bay Area, and Sierraville istothe north.
I'll do a little mapwork and come by with some numbers.
meantime I may delay the Sierra HS trip.my daughter had a ruptured eardrum
couple nights ago and isn;t r eally keen on the altitude change while her ears are still feeling vulnerable.no way to get to Sierraville withoutout going over one or another 7100 foot summit. (SHS is at about 5000 feet.)
so,we're looking for a good friendly hot springs site a little closer to home
and
at lower elevation thisThanksgiving holiday...any idea?. -

Tue, November 20, 2007 - 5:56 PMMy favorite is deep creek. You should be able to get there through Gorman, over the grape vine, which I don't believe will take you over 4500 feet. That's probably the highest point you'll cross during the entire trip.
