Re: Sonoma Country?
Wed, September 19, 2007 - 12:46 PMThere's the hot springs accessible only at low tide on the coast near Mt. Tam in Marin County (look for a thread about it on this tribe). I don't know of any other undeveloped springs within your preferred radius. -

Wed, September 19, 2007 - 2:52 PMSlightly developed is fine, just as long as it isnt private and the fees are not greater than a parking or day use fee for a campgrounds or state park. -

Re: Sonoma Country?
Thu, September 20, 2007 - 9:54 AMThere isn't all that much within your radius (Harbin, Orr and Vichy plus everything in Calistoga) but that's about it. Besides the one I mentioned, I haven't heard of any springs in that area that haven't been developed and/or aren't located on private land. There's a lot of public land around there, just not many hot springs.
I've heard of a few undeveloped (or abandoned) hot springs on private land in the hills north of Clear Lake (near Wilbur Hot Springs) but I don't know anyone who's been there, and anyway that's a bit farther than you say you want to travel.
